Description
November 1852. Shortly after the very public funeral of the Duke of Wellington, Charlie Boylan tries to walk into the Palace of Westminster with a loaded gun. He claims he is owed a large sum of money by his erstwhile employers, a mysterious and secret adjunct of the Home Office specialising in espionage and subterfuge. He is imprisoned, where he writes his memoirs revealing his apparent involvement in some of England's most dramatic and controversial events.
