Description
Ralph Messenger is approaching fifty and feeling rather pleased with himself. As director of Cognitive Science at the University of Gloucester he is in demand on the study of human consciousness.
Despite his implicit agreement with his wife not to stray, he is tempted by novelist Helen Read. His outlook on life, and bold advances seem to fascinate her.
