Description
This is the incredible true story of the unbreakable bond forged between Treo, the world's most highly decorated living dog, and his handler Dave Heyhoe, whilst doing the most dangerous job on earth - sniffing out bombs in Afghanistan. Dave and Treo were sent forwards to detect the Taliban's murderous IEDs. Soon soldiers refused to patrol unless Treo was in front digging out the bombs, and the pressure on the duo became ever more relentless and intense. As they were sniped at, blown up and threatened with capture, man and dog would realise they needed each other more than they could have ever imagined.
Treo was awarded the Dickin Medal – the equivalent of the Victoria Cross for animals – in February 2010, in recognition of the soldiers’ lives he helped to save in Afghanistan
