Description
Futh, recently separated from his wife, heads to Germany for a restorative walking holiday. On his circular route along the Rhine he contemplates many troubling aspects of his life, yet his mind continually returns to his mother’s abandonment of him as a boy, and the void it left behind. He is entirely unaware of the events unfolding back in Hellhaus, in the small family-run hotel where he spent his first night, and on his return he discovers it is no longer the sanctuary he once considered it to be.
