W.F. Howes to release Gabaldon’s long-awaited ninth Outlander novel in audio

W.F. Howes, RBmedia’s international publishing brand, has announced the UK and Commonwealth audiobook release of Go Tell the Bees That I Am Gone, the ninth book in Diana Gabaldon’s hugely popular bestselling Outlander series.
With close to 100,000 global pre-orders already clocked up, the author’s new work is set to become an instant bestseller when the audiobook goes on sale in the UK and in the United States on 23 November. Loyal fans have been waiting seven years since the last book in the series, Written in my Own Heart’s Blood, shot up the charts in 2014.

The audiobook, narrated by voice of Outlander, Davina Porter, follows Jamie Fraser and Claire Randall, who were torn apart by the Jacobite Rising in 1746. Having spent the best part of 20 years finding each other again, the American Revolution, which creeps ever closer, threatens to tear them apart once again.

Diana Gabaldon said: “Davina Porter’s voice has been connected to Outlander since the very first book. Many Outlander fans can’t imagine any other voice but Davina’s when they hear Claire. I’m forever grateful to Davina and Recorded Books for bringing my books to life!”

Dominic White, Head of Publishing and Commerce at W.F. Howes, commented: “This year marks 30 years since the 1991 publication of Outlander, the first title in Diana’s epic, blockbuster series. Over the last three decades, we have seen the series go from strength-to-strength—attracting a following of millions of readers and listeners all over the world, inspiring a critically acclaimed TV series and making for truly compelling audiobooks. Once again, we are honoured to be publishing Diana’s fantastic work; and, given the impressive pre-order numbers on both sides of the Atlantic, we are convinced it will be one of the year’s biggest audio success stories.”
