Leicester, UK 16th March 2018 - The British Book Awards has unveiled its nominees for 2018. W.F.Howes has been nominated in the Audiobook of the Year category for Kid Normal.
The British Book Awards, or Nibbies, is organised by The Bookseller and celebrates the commercial successes of publishers, authors and bookshops.
Kid Normal, the debut novel written and narrated by popular BBC Radio One personalities Greg James and Chris Smith, tells the hilarious story of Murph Cooper. On starting a new school, he discovers he’s been sent to one for superheroes by mistake. Unlike his fellow students, Murph has no special abilities whatsoever!
The audiobook’s success follows the print publication storming into the top three of the Bookseller Children’s chart. The title has gone on to feature in Tom Fletcher’s Waterstones' Club and is a candidate for Waterstones' Children’s book of the year award.
Greg James and Chris Smith took exceptional interest in the audiobook production, working closely on every aspect of the recording including narrating it themselves in their inimitable style.
